Renee Nicole Good

Our city is under attack.

A woman was murdered today.

Many people have been, continue to be, and will be kidnapped by ICE. Minneapolis is just the stage our oppressors have chosen to set their examples.

This Monday, 2,000 ICE agents landed in Minneapolis, MN. Yesterday, Kristi Noem landed to lead the 30 day ICE invasion. Today, as ICE continues to attempt to kidnap our community members, a woman— Renee Nicole Good— was murdered by ICE for defending her community by simply existing in the way of the oppressor.

Since ICE landed, community members have been mobilizing, on foot and in their cars, to follow and deter ICE agents from raiding businesses, schools, and our streets. I watched yesterday as community members, armed with nothing more than whistles and their voices, gathered to block ICE agents from attempting to raid a supermercado in Richfield, Minnesota. Several people recorded while watching on foot while community members in cars circled the store to stop ICE from parking or entering the premises. They were successful. I watched, phone in my hands, ready to record, to stand in civil disobedience if need be, as our community’s actions successfully chased off the invaders. This is happening all over the city simultaneously. Unfortunately, there are not enough defenders or observers to keep us all safe.

Videos are being shared across social media showing the murder this morning. A woman used her car to halt traffic, blocking ICE from moving into a latino/somali neighborhood. This is a nonviolent action called civil disobedience. ICE agents stepped out of their cars and told her to step out of her car, but she refused. Agents began attempting to open her car door by reaching through her open window when she would not step out. She attempted to drive away, clearly trying to drive around the agents who surrounded her car on foot, and an ICE officer shot her 3 times at point blank. They shot her in the face. In videos, you can see the car continues moving for only 100 feet more, crashing into a telephone pole. A medical professional who happened to be on the scene rushed to aid the woman, and ICE agents turned their guns on them– not allowing the woman to receive any help if she was indeed still alive.

The DHS is painting the murder of this peaceful civilian as self defense against a violent extremist. They called her a domestic terrorist for being double parked on a residential road. It is my speculation that she died almost instantly after being shot, her foot falling on the gas, causing her to hit the pole. If you have seen the president’s response on X, you see the way they tell you what to believe, and overwrite the truth. No one got run over in the video he posted. If my speculation is correct, she likely wasn’t even alive to intend to hit anyone. 2,000 ICE agents, empowered by “leaders” who are ready to lie to our faces about what happened, are here on the ground in Minneapolis. They are attacking us while we are at work, getting groceries, and while we’re waiting at bus stops.

Renee Nicole Good was murdered for the same civil disobedience that won a supermercado (supermarket) safety yesterday. She is being rewritten, vilified, and puppeted around as justification for more of the same before we could even learn her name. This is day three of “the biggest DHS operation ever” and they’ve shown us they are ready to kill us.

We are terrified here in Minneapolis but more than that, we’re angry. Things are uncertain. I am certain I am not the only one forced to remember the murder of George Floyd and the way our government and out of towners used our city to their own ends. We are doing what we can to protect ourselves, and we are terrified it won’t be enough.

There are vigils for the murder of Renee Nicole Good tonight. Check on your loved ones. Move in groups. Be brave, but don’t be a fool.

Rest in power, Renee Nicole Good.
