My Story

Alejandra Perez is an enrolled member of the Omaha Tribe  of Nebraska. Alejandra grew up in Sioux City and has attended Iowa State University. While attending Iowa State Alejandra was heavily involved with student organizations. Alejandra has been in the foster care system and adopted,  even though it was at a young age it still has a major impact on her life. Alejandra has always had a love for the environment, even at a young age. She liked to play with snails and try to catch the tadpoles in Bacon Creek. She enjoys hiking, writing, and visiting Wisconsin when she can. Winter hiking is one her favorite things to do, she feels re-energized, focused, and happy during her winter hikes. She will also step into the role of New Media Reporter with Siouxland Public Media.
